Greenwood Initiative Discussion

Members of the Earl B. Gilliam Bar Association are invited to join some of San Diego’s leading black business owners for a discussion on the historic impact of racial injustice and Mike Bloomberg’s transformational plan to put an end to economic inequality through the Greenwood Initiative.

The Greenwood Initiative was named in honor of a community in Tulsa, Oklahoma that was known as “The Black Wallstreet” before a mob of white rioters in 1921 destroyed 35 blocks of what was the wealthiest black community in the country. The plan seeks to add 1 million black homeowners, double the number of black-owned businesses, invest $70 billion in 100 communities across America and help to make sure the quality of a child’s education is not tied to their zip code.
